Once again Portsdown run the annual Charity Fives Tournament at Park Community School.
This year we were supporting the Willow Vision Appeal.
The event ran like clockwork throughout the day with several new teams taking part and enjoying the occasion.
Susan Parish the school Business and Community Manager took control of tea, coffee
and cakes throughout the day all being well supported.
After each team playing five games we ended up with one semi final between Cuaco and Portsdown Roamers and Portsdown White playing Bognor Goodwoods.
Portsdown Roamers beat Cuaco by one shot having to play an extra end.
Portsdown White beating Bognor to make it an all Portsdown Final.
The Roamers beating the Whites by one shot to take the title.
Team members of the Roamers were:-
Pairs- Tony Gepp & Sheila King.  Triples- Sheila Stone, Stuart Graham,Sylvia Kendall
The Prize money being donated back into the charity to boost the fund to £1131.60
I would like to say a big thank you to Terri Kennard of "TLH Leisure" Torquay for donating a two night stay for two voucher which was won by Marjorie Williams from Tadley.
Well played everybody and thank you all for your support.

Richard

I think that everyone who participated in this event, or who supported it by buying cakes and lunches, and those who donated their prize money - need a real pat on the back.
Also to the organisers who give freely of their time deserve a huge thank you. It's people like you that make the worl a better place for children like Willow.
You should all be proud of yourselves.
A huge well done to all of you.

I hope by now every club has received a note from me saying thank you for all entering into the spirit of the occasion, and thanks Terri for such a great prize. As a community manager at present there is not a lot to smile about with funding cuts and politics on a daily basis, but my team and I always enjoy participating in any event put on by such a pro-active club made up of such great people. We are so pleased with the outcome and wish you all well. Happy bowling. Susan
